Sliding door lock – To replace sliding door lock; Open the sliding door until you can easily access the lock. Then, Look at the inside part of the handle and locate the two screws holding it in place. A screw at the top of the latch and the second screw at the bottom of the lock. Remove each screw with a screwdriver by turning them counterclockwise.
Next, Grasp one side of the latch and pull it far from the door. Then slide the other side of the lock from the door. After that, Look at the back of the old lock and locate the hook at the bottom silver called teeth. Compare this with the new lock to ensure that they are of the same size. Most new sliding door lock comes with more teeth, so you can change it if necessary.
And then, Put the back of the new lock from outside the door and inserting the front part of the new lock with the teeth on the inside of the door. Make sure that the teeth facing the door jamb when you insert the lock. Last, Insert the two screws that come with the new lock into the screw holes and tighten with a screwdriver. Replaceing sliding door lock was finished.
